About
Hello, my name is Amelia Sawalich. I am a high school student currently taking classes through the University of Nebraska Online High School. I plan to major in Philanthropy or a related field upon graduation in Spring 2020.
I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I am fortunate to travel to different parts of the world to help those in need. I found my passion for volunteering when I was young. I love being able to serve others and help change lives. I spend much of my time volunteering with Starkey Hearing Foundation to give the gift of hearing to the world with my grandparents, Bill and Tani Austin.
Iām also a passionate equestrian and compete all over the U.S. My riding has taught me many lessons including the importance of perseverance, even in the face of failure.
I hope to encourage other young people to give back to those in need in their own communities. My goal is to inspire and advocate for youth philanthropy through my actions and speaking engagements. I recently attended a United Nations event where I spoke about my experiences and how our generation has the power to enact great change in the world!
